Release of "Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder"

KING JIM Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and ITO EN, LTD. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) have collaborated on the development of"Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder"which uses paper made with "Tea Leaf Paper" that developed by ITO EN's "Used Tea Leaves Recycling System".

The "Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" is an A4 sized paper holder made of "Used Tea Leaf Paper" which is upcycled* used tea leaves produced during the manufacturing process of Japanese tea beverages such as ITO EN's "Oi Ocha" and others. "Used Tea Leaf Paper" reduces the amount of paper raw materials compared to regular papers because it is produced by mixing used tea leaves and paper pulp. Additionally, you can enjoy the faint scent of tea**. We use "Used Tea Leaf Paper" not only for the "Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" itself but also for its package.
"Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" comes in two types: "Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" and "Bifold Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder". Both have a tea leaf design printed on the inside. Stored documents are concealed thanks to the unique pattern of "Used Tea Leaf Paper". In addition, "Bifold Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" has a slit inside to insert a business card. "Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" comes in a pack of 10, and "Bifold Used Tea Leaf Paper Holder" comes in a pack of 2.

  • * Upcycling" is a new methodology for sustainable manufacturing. Unlike conventional recycling, "Upcycling" is not just turning materials into raw materials and reusing them. It purposes that the end result is to produce a new product with more value than the original value of the sum of all its components.
  • ** Because used tea leaves are a natural product, the scent will decrease with storage conditions or long-term use.
